Choosing when to retire
There is no typical age when people retire, and there is no standard reason people provide for choosing a retirement age. Some retire early to start enjoying their retirement sooner rather than later; for other early retirees, the choice to retire may have been an involuntary one due to illness, inability to find work or other pressing reasons.
And yet not everyone decides to retire early, as it is common to find people continuing to work well past their 65th birthday. With that said, regardless of when people decide to retire, a number of factors should be considered before arriving at this important decision.
